Marta Casals, plastic artist born in Figueres in 1976, graduated in Fine Arts and Graphic Design, presents us her artwork in, what it is to the date, the most complete solo exhibition in an art gallery, the Espai Cultural Francolí, venue of teresarius: promotors d'art, from the 4th to the 30th June 2009.

In this exhibition two stages of the work that Marta Casals has developed during the last years are gathered. The first, "The universe of the woman", initiated in 2007 with a series of drawings and paintings where she explores the feminine figure, where the paintings show several attitudes in the face of the life through several flashes attracted by the brush.

From the first outlines of this series, paintings on canvas of greater sizes kept on appearing where she started to introduce new elements, like for example the series "windows", elements of the exterior that drew the attention of her and she chose with great success. Other paintings are a fruit of research with several materials, like paintings on silk and the overlaps of materials. This mixed technique has allowed her to create some textures, some colors and some transparencies that make her feel more near what she wants to express, figures that combine the expressiveness and the transparency appear, they are translucent and fragile, and at the same time of a strong personality.

The second stage of this exhibition goes around "urban subjects", however the presence of the human figure persists, and in all works the woman continues as a main protagonist, but in a different way, now already integrated into the urban life and interrelating herself; at the same time she shapes the instants of the daily life of these characters and of the reality that surrounds them. These women who stroll, speak and live in the city, could be the same ones that in the first stage looked at the exterior from their windows; now they have already gone out to the world, they already share it, surer, creating a circle that comes from the inside and it expands. Like this the works of Casals show the evolution of the woman and also of the same artist: now they already walk surer.

The Espai Cultural Francolí uses this exhibition for making a series of parallel activities around the figure of the woman (it is necessary to make previous booking):

- Friday 5th, 17 to 20 hr. Barcelona from the look of the woman. Route historical-cultural in charge of ConèixerBCN. Price 10 €. It brings us over a route on foot for the historical center of Barcelona on the role of the woman in the Catalan society. We will know some singular women, fighters, and powerful that they have left an important legacy in our city. Anonymous or famous women, but them all important in the evolution and the development of our culture.

- Wednesday 10th, 19 h. Carmen de Bizet. Lecture of opera in charge of Pere Zanuy. Free. The occidental world has been speaking very much for years of Opera, but we are afraid of few people knowing what it is, who made it, when and how was created. This is what Pere Zanuy will attempt for us to explain, then we believe that Opera it is a cultural and intellectual phenomenon of an high importance in the History of the Art. Its protagonist is undoubtedly a woman out of series, modern, current, breaking and misunderstood. And it was until her death, a tragic death but faithful to her ideals. Free and free alive one dies. This can seem normal to us nowadays, but that was not it at all in 1875 when the work was performed for the first time in a troubled Paris.

- Friday 12th, 16 to 20h. Love yourself. Interactive workshop of self-esteem for women in charge of Mar Galindo, Personal Coach-Floral Therapist. Price 48 €
How much time have you dedicated to yourself? As, Nathaniel Branden in the six pillars of the self-esteem, says: 'If I don't do anything, it will change nothing'.
In a fun way, this Workshop gives you the opportunity to find a space and time for you. You will discover, you will feel and be reflected on:
- What is what you want?
- What is it that that you already go to stop making to achieve your objective?
- What is to want yourself more and to caress yourself?
You will share experiences and expectations with other women and we, all boards from the joy, will celebrate our attainments. Give yourself the opportunity!

- Saturday 13th, 10 to 14h. The woman and the photography. In front and behind the camera. Course of Photography in charge of TRÉBOLBCNART. Price 48 €. Working season in which the treatment given to the woman like model in the history of the photography will be examined briefly, as well as show of works of recognized women photographers, talking about their subjects and their sensitivity. Special emphasis in the treatment of the feminine body when behind the camera there is another woman. Some exercises: soft light and hard light; the shown one and the one watched over; the in spite of the fragment; presence and suggestion. Programming: Explanations, examples and foundations. Photography in study with model. Suitable for every class of public and cameras.

- Thursday 18th, 19.30. The woman and the wine. Taste of wines in charge of Emma Giné. Price 15 €. Thematic workshop. Discover the capacities of your senses; smelling, listening, looking, and tasting the wine surrounded with works of art. We will speak about how the history and the culture have joined these two worlds along the time and in our current society.

Literary itinerary about the novel of Eduardo Mendoza that goes on the stages of the Barcelona that progressed between the Universal Exhibitions of 1888 and 1929. The itinerary focuses on the zones of the Eixample and the Park of the Ciutadella.

A historical route for the most historical and emblematic trades of our city that have described the commercial character of the Eixample and the Old Town Quarter. Punt .

From the 7th to the 28th of May the Espai Cultural Francolí has had the privilege of being the headquarters of the first edition of the BAG [BarcelonaArtGay].

The event has been a real success of assistance of public and also of appearances in every type of press and has stood out for the great quality of the artists who have been part of it. Likewise, part of this success is due to the big work of the young designers of léchifla. Among the programmed parallel activities it is necessary to highlight the workshop of Bondage Monoposicional of Neo-Cortex BDSM.

The BAG promises to come back the next year loaded of new artists and proposals.

This month from teresarius: promotors d'art we want to highlight the artistic and original t-shirts of exclusive design created by Marga Bartolí. The study of Marga Bartolí has created a new line of design based on decoration for textile fashion, where all the decorative elements are exclusive on each piece since they are painted at hand, without previous templates, the drawings can never be equal; they are unique designs of the designer Marga Bartolí, based on the nature, of great beauty and exquisite combination of colors.

Local festivity of the Putxet. Exhibition of painting. On Sunday the 7th June from 10 hr. On the occasion of the Local Festivity of the neighborhood of the Putxet, there will be a sample of painting in the Square Kennedy during the 7th June, from 10 until 20 hours. The Residents Association and Friends of the Putxet and the Group Art Farró-Putxet invite all painters that they are interested in taking part in it.

Local festivity of the Farró. Painting in the Street. On Sunday the 14th June from 10 hr. The artists of the Group Art Farró-Putxet during the morning will paint on panels of cardboard their works on the square Mañé i Flaquer and surroundings, for afterwards to hang them on the balconies of the neighborhood during the Local Festivity. The artists, older and small, are invited in all to taking part in it carrying their material. It organizes: Group Art Farró-Putxet and Residents Association of the Farró.
