The paint of Jordi Guillén has a great dose of abstraction although it is always tied up with a specific reality. The result of this amalgam of concepts is an abstraction full of moments of reality, full of clearly figurative snippets, that they try to suggest the desired message. His paintings are, segmentation and merge of different images, based on the fragmentation therefore they are first of all a reflection on the importance that it has the nature in continuous relationship with the human being trying to work with a pictorial language that it expresses at formal level with the same delicacy and in the same way of what it wants to suggest a conceptual level.

His paintings transport us of the reality to imaginary moments, makes us think about the human being as part of the nature, overcoat at phisic and spiritual level. The paintings talk of palpitations, of releases, of dreams..., all in all of that intimate dialogue that every artist has in relation to every circumstance of the life.

With this so intimate and personal work the author speaks about some interior landscapes that attempt to establish a deep dialog between him and his creations, involving at the same time the viwer in this dialog, opening to him a path that will drive him to more poetic and sensitive horizons.

Born in Igualada on 7 of March 1970, has been pupil of professors of painting and drawing from this city, proving since the first day his preference for the oil paint and for the watercolor.

During his artistic life, has won different prizes of painting in Igualada, La pobla, Monistrol de Montserrat, Vilanova del Camí,  Claramunt, Maians, Sta. Cohill of Queralt, etc. (overcoat in competitions of fast painting).

Licensed in Fine Arts through the University of Barcelona, and passing on the studies of Doctorate (painting speciality) in the same University.

Exhibitions and prizes

- 1985, accesit in the IV young competition of art of Igualada, paint modality
- 1987, first prize of drawing in the young competition of art of Igualada.
- 1988 accesit in the VIII young competition of art of Igualada, paint modality.
- 1988, I am part of "Quatrte 88", organized by the town council of similar. The exhibition was formed by 24 oils in which the landscape was the main subject.
- 1992, exhibition of 25 oils in the municipal room of Igualada, all of them landscapes, the exhibition is titled "Oils of Jordi Guillén".
- 1993. Third prize in the XIII young competition of painting of Igualada, paint modality.
- 1994, exhibition in the Municipal Room of Vilanova del Camí. A Collection of 22 paintings in which the watercolors shared protagonism with the oils, the main subject of the exhibition is the landscape under the title of "Oils and watercolors".
1996, exhibition of paintings in the Gallery of Passage of Igualada. Small exhibition of 10 paintings (mixed technique) under the title of "Jordi Guillén, paintings,"
-1997. Third prize in the XV competition of painting on the vineyard and the wine organized through the Museum of the wine in Vilafranca del Penedés.
-1999, exhibition of 22 paintings in the municipal room of Igualada (tannic mixed) under the title of "sensations" .El main subject of the paintings is a very personal vision on the feelings and sensations that produce different old objects.
-2003, exhibition in the gallery to represent you of Barcelona. 11 paintings in mixed technique in which the main subject is the nature.
-2004, exhibition of 19 paintings in mixed technique in the municipal room of Igualada. The main subject is the nature from a poetic look.
2005, exhibition in the gallery to represent you of Barcelona. 11 paintings in mixed technique in which the main subject is the poetic look towards the nature.
- 2005, exhibition of 10 paintings in mixed technique in the mall Pedralbes Centre of Barcelona. The subject keeps being the nature and the sensations that it generates.
