The meeting among the human being with what is "transcendent", can take the most different forms according to the characteristics and the circumstances of every individual; it can be mystical ecstasy in the religious spirits, political utopia in the social reformers, it can be the love in the passionate temperaments and it can take an artistic form in those who have esthetic sensitivity. What is basic is that it is always about the deep contact with a reality that surpasses the merely individual, that puts the conscious barriers in failure and opens to receive information that emanates from the "whole". Now what is particular, what is visible and what is accidental, disappears to leave place to what is universal, what is essential and what is permanent. When the art is born in that territory of freedom, the success, the acceptance, they pass to a second term and the really important is the creative process through which the artist acquires the certainty that his work is transcendent.

That is the case of Luis Ignacio Carías, who expresses in his work elemental realities worked without previous sketches in a process towards inside, without hesitations, with a great security, leaving of side the academic knowledge to be guided by the intuition in search of lyric minimalism full of spirituality. The absence of the color in some cases, the presence of textures, the canvas, are the elements constitutive of a plastic language, close to big figures of the contemporary art.
 
The work of Luis Ignacio Carías is an invitation to enjoy the beauty of what has been stripped and to try to go and to experiment on our own territory of freedoms.
